LEE Hojoon
Lee Hojoon sculpts paper that never existed: origami cats, chess kings, and objet towers, folded not from paper but from stainless steel, made heavy and permanent. His 2025 solo exhibition title says it exactly, Light Paper, Heavy Sculpture. A graduate of Hongik University's graduate school of sculpture, he has shown at the Seoul International Sculpture Festa, was selected for the Seoul Art Fair's ZOOM-IN special exhibition in 2024, and exhibited at Affordable Art Fair Singapore; his public sculptures stand from Hongcheon to Seoul apartment towers, and the Paper Country Museum holds his work. The sculptures keep a toy's friendliness at a monument's scale, which is why they keep winning both children's-sculpture prizes and public commissions.
