Surrea builds happy monsters. Glueck Monster, Energie Museum, The Right to Dream: the exhibition titles alone are a small amusement park. Trained at Sangmyung University in Seoul and the University of Fine Arts Münster, finishing as Meisterschueler under Guillaume Bijl, Surrea has held solo exhibitions across Germany, Japan, and Korea, including at the Yangpyeong Art Museum, with group showings from the StART Art Fair in London to Seoul Auction's HypeN. The German conceptual schooling and the playfulness are not a contradiction; they are the method, joy taken seriously.
