SUSIYO

Susiyo paints children and ordinary objects caught in the middle of becoming something else, in worlds that feel one frame away from moving. Born in Semarang Regency in 1993 and based in Banyuwangi, Indonesia, he came to painting through 2D animation production, after studying Visual Communication Design at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. The animator's habit remains in the studio: several canvases open at once, each built in layers until its world holds.
