YOO Cho Han
Yoo Cho Han hunts memories and mounts them like trophies. Specific objects that sharpen his nerves get observed, taken apart, and rebuilt as layered acrylic constructions, bright interlocking discs and symbolic shapes reassembled until the memory holds still. His hunting trophy series began, by his own account, with a fishing float trembling on the quiet water of the Nakdong River estuary in 2019. He calls the finished pieces spoils of self-reflection: each one a conversation with himself, ended and framed.
